Trevor Siemian may have already won starting job for Broncos
Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian "has won the starting job," ESPN Broncos reporter Jeff Legwold claimed while appearing on Mike Clay's Sirius Fantasy show.
Considering that Siemian threw a pick-six to San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid in his last contest, it's likely more accurate to say that Mark Sanchez played his way out of the competition with three turnovers through two exhibition games. First round pick Paxton Lynch doesn't appear ready quite yet, but if Siemian gets off to a slow start, head coach Gary Kubiak may yank him in favor of the rookie.
Despite increasing evidence to the contrary, our models still currently expect Sanchez to earn the starting gig for the Broncos this season, with rookie Paxton Lynch serving as his backup. We have Sanchez pegged for 3,668 passing yards, 20.41 touchdowns and 15.58 interceptions on 552 attempts (58.30 completion percentage).
