Braxton Miller working as Texans' first-team slot receiver

Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Braxton Miller has worked as the starting slot receiver in each of the team's first two preseason games.

What It Means:

In Saturday night's preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, Miller racked up three catches for 34 yards on four targets. He had four catches for 34 yards in the exhibition opener to boot. Veteran slot man Cecil Shorts appears to have fallen down the depth chart and could lose his roster spot at final cuts.

If Miller can unseat Shorts, he could snag Shorts' projection of 54 receptions for 570 yards and 2.06 touchdowns in 2016. As of now, Miller's 71 yards and 0.28 touchdown projection on 6 catches sits fifth on his own team.
