Matt Jones suffers AC sprain in Washington's second preseason game

Washington running back Matt Jones suffered an AC sprain in his left shoulder during the second preseason game Friday night.

What It Means:

This is the best possible outcome after Jones landed hard on his left shoulder at the end of a long run play. He returned to the sidelines with his arm in a sling in the second half. Jones is certainly done for the preseason, but Week 1 isn't ruled out by any means. Receiving specialist Chris Thompson should see more work if Jones is forced to miss any games with undrafted rookie Rob Kelley or seventh-rounder Keith Marshall helping out on early downs. All of a sudden, this depth chart is looking very vulnerable.

We rank Jones as the 20th-best fantasy running back heading into the season. We forecast 769 yards on the ground, with 45 catches and 410 yards through the air, for 6.00 total touchdowns during Jones' second year in the league.
