Four-game suspension for Bills' Marcell Dareus due to missed drug test
Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus' four-game ban is the result of a missed drug test.
As we know from the other players' situations this offseason, a missed test is the same as a failed test in the league's eyes. General manager Doug Whaley was subject to criticism after signing Dareus to a seven-year, $103.2 million deal last September that doesn't wipe out the guaranteed money in the contract due to drug suspensions. Dareus loses nothing except four game checks.
The Bills defense finished 16th in schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points in 2015, and losing Dareus, one of their best defenders, for four weeks will be a huge blow to the unit. Our algorithms project Dareus for 44.61 tackles and 3.88 sacks from Week 5 on.
