Victor Cruz

Giants say they won't waive white flag on Victor Cruz (groin)

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz (groin) hasn't lost the confidence of his team, as general manager Jerry Reese stated the team is "still not giving up on" the 29-year-old wideout.

What It Means:

Reese didn't sound too confident, however, saying, "hopefully, he'll make it back." Cruz is unlikely to be active for the Giants' second preseason game after aggravating his groin injury during an attempt to return to practice on Sunday. It appears Reese is aware of the fact that Cruz can't be depended upon for consistent production this season, and that any contributions from him will be a bonus.

We rank Cruz as the 64th receiver heading into the season, with a projected line of 45 catches, 600 receiving yards and 3.10 touchdowns.
