Heath Miller to see diminished role in Steelers passing game?
Heath Miller's role in the passing game has diminished in Todd Haley's offense during this year's training camp.
Miller's main role in the Pittsburgh offense this season could shift towards blocking. Miller has seen his receptions per game drop each of the last three seasons despite the Pittsburgh passing offense improving in recent seasons.
The Steelers ranked fourth in schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points last season. Miller ranked an unimpressive 26th in our Reception Net Expected Points per target last season among tight ends with at least 30 targets. We project Miller to finish the season with 57 receptions, 600 receiving yards, and 3 touchdowns.
