Buccaneers not concerned with Kenny Bell's preseason debut
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Kenny Bell's performance in Thursday's preseason opener did not concern head coach Dirk Koetter.
Bell was dreadful against the Philadelphia Eagles, failing to haul in either of his two targets while also contributing a lost fumble on a kickoff return and an offensive pass interference penalty. Despite the very forgettable showing, Koetter said there's "plenty of evaluation to go" and praised Bell for beating his man "several times" in coverage. These comments may be more for Bell's self-confidence than anything else, as it seems clear that he is firmly on the Bucs' roster bubble.
Our models currently expect Bell to make the roster and earn the gig, projecting him to make 26 catches for 339 yards and 2.01 touchdowns this upcoming season.
