Panthers activate Bene Benwikere (leg)
The Carolina Panthers activated cornerback Bene Benwikere (leg) off the active/PUP list.
What It Means:
Benwikere sat out the entire spring as he recovered from a broken leg. With superstar Josh Norman departed in free agency and veteran Charles Tillman retired, Benwikere is now the Panthers' new top boundary defender at cornerback.
The Panthers ranked second in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play in 2015, and Norman was a big part of that. Our algorithms project Benwikere to pick up 67.80 tackles, 3.28 interceptions and 9.04 passes defended in 2016.
