Anquan Boldin working with Lions' first-team

Detroit Lions wide receiver Anquan Boldin worked with the first-team offense during the first practice of training camp.

What It Means:

That did not take long. After signing a one-year deal on Thursday, Boldin was working a ton of snaps in the slot on Friday. If his $750,000 signing bonus was not proof enough, this clearly shows he is the favorite for the third job. Offseason hype target T.J. Jones worked with the second-team on Friday.

We should temper our expectations for Boldin, as he may not have much left in the tank. His 0.51 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target in 2015 were a career-low, while also representing only the second time he has finished below the league average. Our algorithms project Boldin for 33 receptions for 342 yards and 1.65 touchdowns.
