Packers' Datone Jones making transition to outside linebacker
Green Bay Packers edge rusher Datone Jones has shed 16 pounds as he transitions from 3-4 defensive end to outside linebacker.
His body-fat percentage is down from 25 percent to 16.5, while his actual weight is at 269 from 285. The Packers are looking to get more of an impact from their 2013 first-rounder after he's registered just eight sacks through three seasons. He's busted with his hand in the dirt, so perhaps a transition to the two-point stance will work for Jones.
Green Bay finished 11th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play. Our algorithms project just 34.58 tackles and 3.91 sacks for Jones in his contract year.
