Daryl Smith expected to start on strong-side for Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Daryl Smith is expected to start on the strong side.
Released by the Baltimore Ravens in March, Smith signed a one-year, $2.5-million deal to join the Bucs. The veteran's play started to tail off last season, but he should bring experience and leadership to a relatively young linebacking corps. Josh Keyes, a 2015 undrafted free agent out of Boston College, is a dark-horse candidate to start.
In 16 games last year, Smith accumulated 121 total tackles and 3 sacks. If he earns the starting job, he should generate significantly less than this amount.
