DeAndre Washington

Raiders hoping DeAndre Washington wins an offensive role

The Oakland Raiders "certainly hope" rookie running back DeAndre Washington wins a role in camp, CSN Bay Area's Scott Bair reports.

What It Means:

The most likely role for the Texas Tech product is on passing downs, but he has to prove he can protect franchise passer Derek Carr on those downs to win the job. Washington could sap some of the early-down work from Latavius Murray. Whether the fifth-round rookie takes advantage of his opportunity is the question.

Our algorithms project Washington as the 61st-best fantasy player at this position heading into training camp. We project him for 63 carries for 243 yards rushing and a touchdown, as well as 23 receptions for 180 yards receiving and a score in the air.
