DeAngelo Williams will be Steelers' starter for Week 1
Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams is expected to be the team's starting running back in the first four games of the season.
This is due to Le'Veon Bell's latest substance abuse violation. In the nine games he played last season, Williams led all NFL running backs in touches per game (22.9), touchdowns (11), and snaps played. Assuming Bell's suspension stands, Williams will start at Washington in Week 1, at home against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2, at the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, and versus the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.
Prior to the news breaking, Williams was projected by our algorithms for 80 carries for 362 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns this year, along with 21 receptions for 181 yards receiving. Those totals will vault upward shortly.
