Seattle Seahawks rookie nose tackle Jarran Reed is expected to start for the team this season.
After losing Brandon Mebane in free agency, the Seahawks had a big hole to fill next to Ahtyba Rubin. Seattle viewed Reed as the best run-stuffing defensive tackle in the draft, and while he doesn't have the explosiveness needed to be a prime interior pass-rusher, he will handle an important two-down role early in his career. Jordan Hill and Michael Bennett will man Seattle's interior in sub-packages.
The Seahawks tied for second in the league in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play in 2015.
