Jacksonville Jaguars safety Johnathan Cyprien is "the favorite" for the starting strong safety job.
He is still in a contest with 2015 fourth-rounder James Sample for the starting job. Cyprien has been a disappointment since arriving in the second round of the 2013 draft, but the addition of a true roaming free safety in Tashaun Gipson should allow him to play a more comfortable role closer to the line of scrimmage.
Our algorithms like the incumbent Cyprien, and project him for 107.30 tackles, 1.78 interceptions, and 5.40 passes defended in 2016.
