Baltimore Ravens franchise kicker Justin Tucker's agent confirms he won't re-sign in 2017 if the sides can't reach a long-term deal by Friday's deadline.
"Justin's disillusioned with the process right now and the Ravens' position with him on his contract," his agent said. "If we don't get a long-term deal done by Friday, Justin will not entertain offers from Ravens after the season." Tucker will begin the 2016 season as the second-most accurate in league history, so his frustration is understandable. Mason Crosby signed a four-year, $16.1 million contract with the Green Bay Packers in March, and according to Tucker's agent, the Ravens are offering less than that. The deadline is on Friday at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.
Tucker made 82.5 percent (33-of-40) of his field goal attempts last season, although all but one of his misses was from 50-plus yards. He was also perfect from the new extra point distance, a feat only five kickers managed on the year.
