Antone Exum is in Vikings' free safety mix
Minnesota Vikings safety Antone Exum is in the mix to start opposite Harrison Smith.
Exum worked primarily with the second team at OTAs. He's part of an open competition for Andrew Sendejo’s job going into training camp. Sendejo's contract makes him the favorite to start, but veteran Michael Griffin, Exum, Anthony Harris and rookie Jayron Kearse are all options.
Our algorithms still favor Sendejo for the centerfield role, who we project for 77.52 tackles, 0.78 sacks and 1.44 interceptions in 2016. The Vikings ranked 13th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play in 2015.
