Saints sign defensive line depth with Darryl Tapp
The New Orleans Saints signed defensive lineman Darryl Tapp.
Tapp is turning 32 in September, and played 419 snaps as part of the Detroit Lions' defensive line rotation in 2015, where he was primarily depth as an edge-setter and gap-plugger. He'll compete for a similar role in New Orleans.
Tapp earned 26 total tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles last year in Detroit on limited playing time. The Saints' defense ranked dead last in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play in 2015.
