Daniel Jones (neck) turns in another full Giants practice

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) practiced in full again on Thursday for Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders, per head coach Brian Daboll.

What It Means:

Jones practiced in full for a second straight day and remains on track to return from his three-game absence on Sunday. Tommy DeVito will be the backup while Tyrod Taylor is sidelined with a rib cage injury. Taylor wound up being a slight upgrade for the Giants' offense while Jones was sidelined and now Darren Waller (hamstring) is out.

Jones is the QB13 in numberFire's Week 9 rankings and our models project him for 15.3 FanDuel points, 187.3 passing yards, 0.82 touchdowns, 0.6 interceptions, and 35.9 rushing yards. The Raiders are allowing the ninth-fewest FanDuel points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, but their pass defense only ranks 20th in our opponent-adjusted NEP model. Jones is averaging negative-0.27 Passing Net Expected Points per attempt this season, ranked last among all quarterbacks with 100-plus attempts. For reference, Taylor is averaging 0.05 Passing NEP per attempt.
