Austin Seferian-Jenkins

Austin Seferian-Jenkins risking his roster spot with Buccaneers?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins' attitude "has the potential to cost him his job," Roy Cummings of Today's Pigskin believes.

What It Means:

"Seferian-Jenkins is a $10 million talent with a ten-cent head," Cummings wrote. "In just two seasons with the Buccaneers, he’s proved he has the uncanny ability to turn a molehill of a mistake into a mushroom cloud of trouble." The promising tight end was kicked out of spring practice three weeks ago, and it wasn't the first time he's butted heads with his coaches. ASJ isn't in danger of being cut, but the Buccaneers could dangle trade offers for him. Head coach Dirk Koetter has said repeatedly that Cameron Brate is in the mix to start ahead of ASJ.

Seferian-Jenkins led the Buccaneers with 1.09 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target. Brate ranked second among tight ends, earning 0.92 Reception NEP per target in 2015. Our algorithms project Seferian-Jenkins for 39 receptions, 534 yards and 4.8 touchdowns this season, as our 18th-best fantasy tight end. Brate is lurking at the 34th spot, however, and this situation doesn't seem to be clearing up anytime soon.
