Minnesota Vikings kick returner/wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson admits his work ethic lagged at times through the first three years of his career.
"Sometimes you can be here and you feel like you’ve got to be on the team," Patterson said. "You feel like, ‘Yeah, I’m a first-round pick, I’m on the team.’ Things like that, sometimes they make you not work hard, they make you don’t want to do things, make you be lazy." C-Patt's career has been in a downward spiral the past two seasons, with the former 29th overall draft pick drawing only two targets in 16 games last year despite a depleted wide receiving corps. With Stefon Diggs, rookie Laquon Treadwell, Charles Johnson and Jarius Wright all in the mix in Minnesota, Patterson is unlikely to have much of a role beyond returning kicks.
Our algorithms project Patterson for 5 catches for 50 yards this season, but even that may be a generous estimation. He ranks just 175th in our preseason fantasy rankings, which does not project special teams contributions.
