Nate Washington struggling to get on same page with Patriots' offense
New England Patriots wide receiver Nate Washington struggled to get "on the same page" with quarterback Tom Brady during the offseason program, Patriots.com's Paul Perillo said.
Many veteran receivers have faced similar problems when joining the Patriots, but it is still surprising considering Washington played in a similar offense with the Houston Texans. In a wide-open competition for the fifth wide receiver job, Washington will have to show better in training camp to earn a roster spot. He likely needs to beat out both Keshawn Martin and Aaron Dobson to keep his job.
In 2015, Washington racked up 58.01 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) on 94 targets with the Texans. His 0.62 Reception NEP per target ranked 65th among the 86 wide receivers with at least 50 targets last year.
