Eagles' Carson Wentz still likely to spend first year on bench
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will watch his rookie year from the sidelines, Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com believes.
Sam Bradford is likely to be the starter while Kempski sees the Eagles going with Chase Daniel as the backup. Lately we've seen more rookie passers get thrown into the fire in year one. However, the Eagles seem to be taking a more patient approach with Wentz. Daniel is a favorite of new head coach Doug Pederson but it's still hard to envision Wentz falling to third on the depth chart after being selected second overall in this year's draft.
Considering 2015 was his first full season since 2012, Bradford didn't fare too badly. Among the 46 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs last year, Bradford ranked 23rd in Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back with a clip of 0.08.
