Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said that running back Adrian Peterson is going to get "the heavy workload" in the backfield and "as much as he can take" this season.
Peterson has handled massive workloads before, but he's entering his age-30 season, typically the edge of the production cliff for running backs. He is also expected to be a prominent factor in the passing game.
Peterson is projected for 304 carries (second-most in the NFL), 1,371 yards, and 11 touchdowns on the ground as well as 49 receptions, 341 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdown by our algorithms, making him the fourth-best fantasy football running back entering the year.
