Rams preparing to be without Tre Mason

Los Angeles Rams running back Tre Mason's actions are forcing the team to prepare for the possibility that he is "not going to be here," head coach Jeff Fisher said.

What It Means:

Mason was arrested for among other things resisting arrest and possession of cannabis in March. He missed his original court date for the infractions, but he pled not guilty in April. He was held out of OTA's for "personal reasons." With Mason's status up in the air, the Rams are thin in experience behind starter Todd Gurley and passing-down back Benny Cunningham.

Mason managed 2.76 yards per carry on 75 attempts last year as a lightly-used change-up back behind Todd Gurley. Mason generated -19.70 Total Net Expected Points this season, the 70th-most among the 72 running backs with at least 75 opportunities in 2015.
