Saquon Barkley S. Barkley

Saquon Barkley agrees to one-year deal with Giants

The New York Giants and running back Saquon Barkley agreed to terms on a one-year contract worth up to $11 million, including $10.1 million guaranteed with a $2 million signing bonus.

What It Means:

The deal includes three different incentives (1,300 rushing yards, 11 touchdowns, 65 receptions) that give Barkley the opportunity to outperform the $10.1 million franchise tag that the Giants placed on him earlier this offseason. Barkley was previously set to hold out after not signing the tag by last week's deadline, but he is now expected to be at practice on Wednesday when the Giants begin training camp. The 26-year-old back will be the focal point of New York's offense again, and he's on the short list of players that could lead the league in touches and yards from scrimmage.

Barkley is the RB7 in numberFire's preseason rankings. Our models project him for 297.4 carries and 1,325.6 rushing yards, with 49.3 catches (67.6 targets) and 303.5 receiving yards, and 13.37 total touchdowns.
