Tampa Bay Buccaneers fourth-year wide receiver Russell Shepard was talked up by head coach Dirk Koetter on Tuesday.
"Shep is one of those guys that he’s known for his special teams play, but he’s just always hanging around at wide receiver," Koetter said. "You can’t break that guy. Shep is always here. Coaches always say the number one ability is availability, and Shep is always available. He’s in the mix." The Bucs' third receiver job is still wide open, and Shepard figures to at least be in the mix to win it.
Shepard saw just nine targets in 2015, converting them into three catches for 5.32 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP). He had a 0.59 Reception NEP per target.
