Texans' Kevin Johnson (foot, wrist) running, not cleared for practice

Houston Texans cornerback Kevin Johnson (foot, wrist) hasn't returned to practice but is "running and making steady progress."

What It Means:

He's still recovering from offseason surgeries on his wrist and foot. Johnson hasn't weighed himself recently, but said he feels "bigger and stronger" than he did last year. He's been working closely with conditioning coach Greg Fitzgerald. A 2015 first-round pick who started 10 games as a rookie, Johnson hopes to be ready for training camp.

The Texans finished third in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play. Johnson racked up 54 total tackles, one interception, and nine passes defensed in 2015.
