Chris Givens impressing at Eagles OTA's

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Chris Givens has "really shown something" at Eagles' OTA's, CSN Philly's Dave Zangaro says.

What It Means:

Givens seemed like a roster afterthought or depth addition when the Eagles signed him in March for only $100,000 guaranteed. He's been a bright spot at OTA's, impressing as a deep threat while also showing surprising polish underneath. Givens has seen plenty of first-team reps and it's not out of the question he earns a starting spot ahead of Josh Huff, Nelson Agholor and Rueben Randle this year.

The 26-year-old tallied 20 catches for 353 yards and one touchdown with Baltimore and St. Louis in 2015. Unless the Eagles greatly change his usage and production profile, he's a deep-threat option only; he ranked 81st in Reception Net Expected Points per target among the 86 wide receivers in 2015 with at least 50 targets. He had an atrocious 37.04 percent Catch Rate.
