C.J. Prosise expected to have a significant role for Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks rookie running back C.J. Prosise will have a "significant role" as Seattle's third-down back, expects John Boyle of the Seahawks' website.
Boyle has pegged Prosise for the old Fred Jackson role, especially when the Seahawks are in up-tempo offense. Jackson handled 299 snaps and 64 touches last season. Prosise is 13 years younger than Jackson and obviously better suited for a larger workload. There is a chance he could challenge for the lead gig if Thomas Rawls (ankle) is not healthy.
Prosise averaged 6.6 yards per carry in his final year at Notre Dame and appears ready to make a pass-catching impact in the NFL. He will likely have a role right off the bat, especially if Rawls (ankle) isn't ready to go in Week 1.
