Texans select C.J. Stroud with 2nd overall pick in 2023 NFL Draft
The Houston Texans selected Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud with the second overall pick in this year's NFL draft.
After a pre-draft season shrouded in mystery, the Texans selected Stroud with the second pick in the 2023 NFL draft. Stroud will be expected to replace Davis Mills and begin a new era for a Houston team that hasn't had elite play at the quarterback position since Deshaun Watson in 2020. In his final season at Ohio State, Stroud completed 258 of 389 pass attempts (66.3%) for 3,688 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions.
The Texans are currently tied with the Arizona Cardinals for the worst odds to win the 2023-24 Super Bowl (+18000). Their odds to win the AFC South next season are listed at +900.
