Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder in January and will miss OTAs.
Abdullah originally suffered the injury in December, but he was able to play through it over the final two weeks. Even though his Week 1 status is not in doubt, this is a poor development for a player trying to establish himself as the clear lead back in Detroit.
Abdullah ranked 21st in Net Expected Points per rush last season among running backs with at least 100 carries at -0.03.
