Falcons' Caleb Huntley (Achilles) done for 2022 season
Atlanta Falcons running back Caleb Huntley suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon injury in the team's Week 15 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Huntley tore his Achilles tendon in the first quarter of Sunday's loss and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the competition. Further testing revealed that the rookie suffered a season-ending injury, and will go on the injured reserve as the season draws to a close. Huntley emerged in the Falcons' backfield this season after injuries to Damien Williams (chest) and Cordarrelle Patterson (knee), staking out a part of the team's voluminous rushing attack even after Patterson's return.
Huntley will finish the season with 76 carries, 366 yards, a 4.8 yards per carry average, and 1 touchdown. His injury opened up an opportunity for fellow rookie Tyler Allgeier in Week 15, who notched a season-high 17 carries for 139 yards and a touchdown. Allgeier should see an increase in his workload down the stretch.
