Mecole Hardman (abdomen) remaining out at Chiefs practice
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman (abdomen) is not practicing again on Thursday.
Hardman is reportedly dealing with an illness to his abdomen and he's uncertain for Sunday night's Week 11 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. JuJu Smith-Schuster is in the concussion protocol, so the Chiefs might be missing a couple of regulars at receiver. Marquez Valdes-Scantling (illness), Kadarius Toney, and Justin Watson will be able to benefit if Hardman is limited or out.
Hardman has a 10.8% target share and is averaging 4.2 targets per game this season. If he is limited and JuJu is out, numberFire's models project Toney for 5.8 targets and MVS for 4.7 targets. The Chargers have the No. 11 pass defense and fourth-worst pass defense in numberFire's advanced team metrics, so the Chiefs may run more than normal.
