Falcons moving Ra'Shede Hageman outside to defensive end

Atlanta Falcons 2014 second-round defensive lineman Ra'Shede Hageman will see snaps at defensive end this season.

What It Means:

A tackle by trade, Hageman will take over the strong-side end position in base sets, allowing Tyson Jackson to play inside. This position switch should allow Hageman to focus more on controlling the point of attack and stopping the run rather than penetrating and getting to the quarterback, which he has struggled to do through two seasons.

With the 21st-ranked defense in the league last year by Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play, the Falcons are willing to try just about anything.
