Texans' Johnathan Joseph is recovering from knee surgery

Houston Texans cornerback Johnathan Joseph is recovering from "minor arthroscopic" knee surgery, but he has already resumed running.

What It Means:

"Minor" surgeries often become more major as the offseason drags on, but there's no reason to doubt the team's account in this instance. Joseph suffered a knee injury in late November but didn't miss any games. Now 32, Joseph remained highly effective in 2015.

Despite having one of the best pass rushes in the league, the Texans' defense ranked 30th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play last year. Joseph had a solid season himself -- albeit a down one, by his standards -- with 58 total tackles, 22 passes defensed and one interception.
