Yankees not setting a timetable for return of Alex Rodriguez (hamstring)

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez (hamstring) does not currently have a timetable for his return.

What It Means:

Rodriguez strained his hamstring Tuesday against Baltimore and landed on the disabled list a day later. Expect a host of players to fill the void at designated hitter. Carlos Beltran will start there on Thursday.

Rodriguez is slashing just .194/.275/.444 with five home runs and a .312 wOBA in 80 plate appearances this season. He had picked up his play over the last six games, however, slashing .368/.400/1.000 with three home runs and a .579 wOBA. Our models currently project the 40 year-old to post a .338 wOBA with 15 home runs over the remaining course of the season.
