Seahawks officially place Marshawn Lynch on retired list
Former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has been officially placed on the reserve/retired list.
For some reason, there was drama about the fact Lynch's status had yet to be officially updated, but he had made it abundantly clear he was walking away. Lynch turned 30 years old two weeks ago.
Lynch was one of the most dominant backs in the game for the early part of this decade and made his mark with several memorable performances. The most iconic of which was his 67-yard touchdown run to clinch an upset Wild Card win against the New Orleans Saints in 2011. Lynch was a First-Team All-Pro in 2012 and won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2013. For Seattle, it'll be the Thomas Rawls show in 2016. Among backs with at least 100 carries last year, Rawls ranked second in Rushing Net Expected Points per carry while Lynch ranked 28th.
