Titans' DeMarco Murray loved Derrick Henry selection
Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray "loved" the selection of Alabama rookie running back Derrick Henry in the second round of the NFL draft, Titans' coach Mike Mularkey said.
Mularkey spoke with Murray immediately after the Titans made the pick. "I told DeMarco, ‘Nothing has changed since we made the trade for you. You’re still going to be the guy who is going to carry the load for us,'" Mularkey said. Considering how "well" Murray handled challenges to his workload in Philadelphia last season, this could go poorly.
Among backs with at least 100 carries in 2015, Murray checked in 23rd in Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt. In 2014, with the Dallas Cowboys, Murray ranked ninth in this metric among backs with 100 attempts.
