Titans nab Derrick Henry in the second round
The Tennessee Titans selected former Alabama running back Derrick Henry with the No. 45 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.
After trading for DeMarco Murray earlier this offseason, the Titans committed to their smashmouth offense by drafting mauler right tackle Jack Conklin in the first round and adding a 6-foot-3, 247-pound banger at running back in the second. Henry earned the Heisman Trophy for the 2015 national champs, finishing his three-year career rushing totals of 3,591 yards and 42 scores (5.96 yards per carry). Henry is an incredible athlete for his size, running 4.54 40-yard dash in Indy with an absurd 10-foot-10 broad jump and 37-inch vertical.
This was one of the head-scratchers of the entire draft. After trading for DeMarco Murray, the Titans invest even more in the running back position. Time will tell how the timeshare shakes out, but this has to ding Murray's value.
