Ravens believe Rashod Bateman is "ready to break out"

The Baltimore Ravens believe second-year wide receiver Rashod Bateman is "ready to break out," according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.

What It Means:

A first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Bateman had been wowing reporters and his teammates in the buildup to his rookie season before suffering a core muscle injury that required surgery and held him out for almost half of the season. Now with former teammate Marquise Brown headed to Arizona, Bateman is primed for a breakout as the Ravens' top wideout for the 2022 season. He'll compete for targets with superstar tight end Mark Andrews, but has little competition from the team's other pass catchers.

Bateman totaled 46 catches for 515 yards and 1 touchdown in his 12 games last season, despite playing with starting quarterback Lamar Jackson in just 7 of those contests. He is the fantasy WR34 in numberFire's preseason projections for the 2022 season.
