Kansas City's Marquez Valdes-Scantling 'showing strong connection' with Patrick Mahomes
According to Nate Taylor, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has "displayed a strong connection" with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Valdes-Scantling is reportedly meshing well with his new quarterback during mini-camp workouts in a complete role utilizing both intermediate and deep routes. On 230 career targets, the 27-year old has accounted for 1.37 yards per route run while logging 65.9% of his snaps out wide and 33.3% in the slot.
In a potential committee approach with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Skyy Moore, and Mecole Hardman, numberfire's models currently project Valdes-Scantling to haul in 40.9 receptions for 656.4 yards and 4.3 touchdowns on 76.7 targets.
