Dolphins' Reshad Jones wants annual $10-$11 million

Disgruntled Miami Dolphins strong safety Reshad Jones wants $10-$11 million per year in a new contract, the Miami Herald reports.

What It Means:

That won't be happening. Due $14.3 million over the next two seasons, Jones is already one of the highest-paid safeties in football. He still has half a four-year contract to go. The Dolphins are arguably the worst team in the league at evaluating their own talent, but they'll probably hold firm with Jones' contract until at least training camp.

Miami ranked just 30th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play, as well as a woeful 31st in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play. Jones did have a ridiculous 2015 campaign, with 136 total tackles, 2.0 sacks, 5 interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), and 10 passes defensed.
