The Denver Broncos re-signed running back Melvin Gordon to a one-year contract.
Gordon's return is disappointing news for Javonte Williams' fantasy outlook. Williams is expected to take over as the clear lead back, but Gordon will likely remain involved enough to prevent Williams from being a consistent top-tier RB1. Gordon, who turned 29 earlier this month, totaled 1,131 yards on 231 touches last year.
Among the 50 running backs with at least 100 carries last season, Gordon ranked 36th in Rushing Net Expected Points per carry (negative-0.02). He averaged 11.3 FanDuel points per game.
