Free agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater intends to sign one-year deal with Miami
Free agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater intends to sign a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins to be the backup to Tua Tagovailoa, Adam Schefter reports.
Bridgewater has spent the past two seasons as a starter for the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, respectively, but failed to truly capitalize on the surplus of offensive playmakers around him at either of those destinations. While he certainly has a role in the NFL, it seems he is more likely to be a competent backup at this stage of his career than he is to become a coveted starter.
Bridgewater's 6.32 adjusted net yards per attempt last season ranked 16th in the league, but his conservative style of play often frustrated fans and the coaching staff on the Broncos' way to a 7-7 record with him as a starter.
