Free agent receiver Christian Kirk signing with Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are signing free agent wide receiver Christian Kirk to a four-year, $72 million deal that could be worth up to $84 million, Ian Rapoport reports.
It's a massive deal for the former Arizona Cardinal receiver, making him one of the most highly-paid receivers in the league. The former second-round pick never crested 1,000 receiving yards with the team that drafted him, but was forced to play out of position on the outside for much of his time with the team.
Kirk thrived out of the slot in his time with Arizona, running almost 50% of his routes from there in his final and most productive season with the team. His 112.2 passer rating when targeted bested any of Jags' top pass catchers last season, so his addition could be a boon to quarterback Trevor Lawrence, even if his salary raises some eyebrows.
