Cardinals sign running back James Conner to three-year deal
The Arizona Cardinals and running back James Conner have agreed to a three-year contract with $13.5 million guaranteed, according to Adam Schefter.
The deal could be worth up to $25.5 million to Conner over it's three-year term, Schefter reports. It's a pretty massive contract for the former Pittsburgh Steeler, who shined in 2021 on a one-year deal with the Cardinals. With former teammate Chase Edmonds off to the Miami Dolphins, Conner could be in line for a massive workload in 2022.
Conner thrived in Arizona's two-back system for much of last season, carrying the ball 202 times for 752 yards and a whopping 15 touchdowns, while catching 37 passes for another 375 yards and 3 more scores. It will be hard for him to live up to his 18-touchdown upside in 2022 for fantasy, but we've seen head coach Kliff Kingsbury get the most out of his running backs in almost all of his four three seasons in the league.
