Dolphins place franchise tag on Mike Gesicki
Miami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki was assigned the team's franchise tag on Tuesday.
Gesicki will remain with the Dolphins as they begin life under new head coach Mike McDaniel. The 26-year-old has been a consistent producer for Miami after being drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, with 50 plus receptions in each of his last three seasons. He is expected to remain a core part of Miami's passing attack, working alongside sophomore Jaylen Waddle and DeVante Parker.
Gesicki played in 17 games for Miami last season, catching 73 of 112 targets for 780 yards and 2 touchdowns.
