Baker Mayfield (shoulder) out for Browns Week 18 versus Bengals
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder surgery) will not play Week 18 versus the Cincinnati Bengals, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced.
Mayfield will undergo shoulder surgery as soon as possible and miss the final game of the season. The 2018 No. 1 overall pick turns 27 in April before entering the final year of his rookie contract. Case Keenum will start at quarterback for the Browns on Sunday at home.
Among the 32 quarterbacks with at least 200 drop backs this season, Mayfield tied for the seventh-fewest Passing Net Expected Points per play (0.00). His completion percentage fell 2.3 points from last year and his adjusted yards per attempt (6.6) dropped more than a yard while Mayfield's interception rate rose from 1.6% to 3.1%.
