Buccaneers release Antonio Brown following Week 17 meltdown
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians told reporters that receiver Antonio Brown "is no longer a Buc" following the team's Week 17 win over the New York Jets.
Week 17 saw Brown making a premature, topless exit from Sunday's game, with the veteran receiver walking through the field shirtless on his way to the locker room during the third quarter. It's unclear what exactly triggered Brown's bizarre outburst, but it has led to his release from the Bucs.
Brown played a minimal role in the Buccaneers' exciting comeback victory over the Jets, catching just 3 passes during the course of the game. His absence opens up opportunities for Tyler Johnson and Cyril Grayson to grab starting receiver snaps going forward.
